Interactive Session for Skill-Building and Networking

27 May, Wednesday · 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM · Downtown Learning Center

Neighbors talking together around a table at a community workshop

Empowering individuals with practical tools for advocacy.

This hands-on morning workshop teaches the core skills of grassroots advocacy: telling your story in two minutes, speaking at public hearings, running a petition drive, and organizing your own block. No experience needed — just bring a neighbor and a notebook.

You will rotate through three guided stations led by campaign organizers and local leaders, then practice in small groups over coffee. Everyone leaves with a printed advocacy toolkit, a precinct map, and a personal action plan for the month ahead.

What to expect

  • Doors open and coffee at 9:30 AM
  • Storytelling and public speaking lab
  • Petition and canvass training
  • Networking lunch and action pledges

Good to know
